About Eleanor Underhill

Eleanor Underhill is a musician, artist, and educator based in Asheville, North Carolina.

Born and raised in Williamsburg, VA, Eleanor was always drawn to music, art, and nature. She attended Warren Wilson College in 2000 to study art and environmental science. In 2003, she graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies, concentrating in Environmental Education.

Since then, Eleanor has maintained various teaching positions focusing on naturalist skills, sustainable agriculture, science, and engineering; however, it wasn't long after graduating college that Eleanor's passion for music took the center stage. With her Americana/Folk trio, Underhilll Rose, Eleanor has toured the continental United States, Ireland, and the UK while garnering international critical acclaim with the release of two chart-topping albums.

Eleanor's love of songwriting, poetry, and prose is long-standing; a thread through it all. Her illustrations have been featured in three published books: The Woodwright's Guide (Roy Underhill), Make a Joint Stool From a Tree (Jennie Alexander & Peter Follansbee) and Visual Design Solutions (Connie Malamed).
